EKAT City, Yekaterinenburg, Russia

2014

The open space concept for central Yekaterinburg begins at Dendraniy Park, south of the historic commercial core and just west of Greenwich Shopping Center. From here, a park-like promenade flanks the Iset River leading to the dam, where a pedestrians pass beneath Lenin Avenue offers to view the broad expanse of the dammed river beyond. Tree-lined pedestrian promenades line the banks of the dammed river, leading on the west to the DramaTheater and Boris Yeltsin Center. The east bank promenade leads to the Church of the Blood, the Cosmos Cinema and Concert Theater and the Dynamo Stadium. The broad river creates the City’s main Open Space, and provides scenic views of the surrounding City landmarks.
